Quick answers to the most common questions about our landscaping services, pricing, timelines, and process.
The easiest way is to call Colin directly at (403) 247-1331 or fill out our online contact form. We'll schedule a free on-site visit — typically within 3–5 business days — to measure your space, discuss your vision, and provide a detailed written quote. No pressure, no obligation.
We serve all quadrants of Calgary (NW, NE, SW, SE) plus Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, and surrounding communities within about 45 minutes of the city. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, just give us a call.
Our busy season runs May through October. For summer projects, we recommend booking your consultation by March or April to secure a spot. Winter consultations are welcome — it's actually a great time to plan since we can often offer earlier start dates.
Yes — we find the best results come from an in-person conversation where Colin can walk the site with you, understand your goals, and answer questions on the spot. Estimates typically take 30–45 minutes.
Every project is unique, but here are general ranges for Calgary:
Patio or walkway: $8,000 – $25,000+
Retaining wall: $5,000 – $20,000+
Deck: $10,000 – $35,000+
Full backyard transformation: $30,000 – $80,000+
These vary based on size, materials, site conditions, and complexity. Your free estimate will include a detailed, itemized quote.
We accept cheque, e-transfer, and bank draft. We typically structure payment as a deposit to secure your booking (usually 30–40%), a progress payment at the midpoint, and the balance upon completion and your final walk-through approval.
We don't offer in-house financing, but many of our clients use home equity lines of credit (HELOC) or personal loans. Landscaping is one of the best home improvements for ROI — studies show it can return 150–200% of the investment in home value.
Small projects (walkway, small patio): 3–5 days
Medium projects (full patio, deck, retaining wall): 1–2 weeks
Large projects (complete backyard transformation): 3–5 weeks
Weather can affect timelines — Calgary's unpredictable spring storms sometimes push things by a day or two, but we always communicate proactively.
Landscaping involves excavation and materials, so there will be some disruption. However, our crew cleans up at the end of every work day — tools are organized, debris is contained, and we protect areas we're not working on. At project completion, we do a thorough final cleanup including power-washing any dirty surfaces.
Yes. If your project requires a City of Calgary development permit (e.g., retaining walls over 1.2m, structures near property lines), we handle the entire permit process for you. We also call for utility locates (Alberta One-Call) before any excavation begins.
Light rain usually doesn't stop us. For heavy rain or storms, we'll pause work to protect quality — certain materials (like polymeric sand or concrete) need dry conditions to cure properly. We'll keep you updated and adjust the schedule as needed. Rain delays don't affect your quote.
We use premium, Canadian-sourced materials including Belgard and Expocrete paving stones, Allan Block retaining wall systems, and Trex or TimberTech composite decking. All materials are selected for Calgary's freeze-thaw climate and come with manufacturer warranties.
We provide a 3-year written workmanship warranty on all projects. This covers settling, shifting, drainage issues, and any defects in installation. Material warranties from manufacturers (typically 15–25 years for paving stones, lifetime for composite decking) are provided separately and transferred to you.
We prefer to source materials ourselves to ensure quality and proper quantities, but we're happy to discuss specific products you have in mind. If you've already purchased materials, we can work with them — just note that our workmanship warranty may be limited if material quality is a concern.
We're happy to chat — no question is too small. Call Colin or send us a message and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
