Early-generation turf products did get quite warm in direct summer sun. Modern premium turf products use heat-reduction technology and lighter-coloured infill materials that significantly reduce surface temperatures. For areas where kids play bare-footed, we can also recommend infill types specifically designed for cooler surfaces. A quick sprinkle with a hose on very hot days also brings the temperature right down.
Yes — properly installed artificial turf is extremely dog-friendly. Liquid waste drains directly through the turf and base system. Solid waste is removed just like from natural grass. We use antimicrobial infill in pet areas to prevent odour buildup, and the entire system rinses clean with rain or a hose. No more mud paws in the house.
