Colin or a senior project lead visits your property to walk the space with you. We listen to your goals, assess the site conditions (grade, drainage, soil, sun exposure), and begin to understand what's possible within your space and budget. No pressure, no pitch — just an honest conversation about your vision.
We develop a design plan for your project — bringing together all the elements discussed — along with a fully itemized estimate. Material costs, labour, and any permit fees are broken out clearly. No hidden numbers, no vague line items. You know exactly what you're getting and exactly what it costs.
Once you've approved the design and estimate, we help you finalize material selections — paver colours and patterns, wood species, plant choices — and lock in your build date. For larger projects, we'll provide a phased schedule so you know exactly what happens when.
Our experienced, owner-supervised crew arrives on schedule, protects your property, and begins the transformation. Throughout the build, you'll get regular updates and have direct access to reach us with any questions. We treat your property exactly as we'd want someone to treat ours.
We walk the completed project with you to ensure every single element meets your expectations. The site is fully cleaned — not a paver chip or plant tag left behind. We take those broad goals, assess your space, your lifestyle, and your budget, and translate them into a concrete plan. You don't need to know what you want — that's our job to help figure out together.
It depends entirely on the scope. A comprehensive backyard project — patio, deck, pergola, fence, fire pit, and planting — typically takes 3–6 weeks of active build time. We'll provide a detailed project schedule during the estimate phase so you always know what's happening and when. We also work efficiently and continuously — we're not the crew that disappears for days at a time.
Absolutely — phased builds are a great approach for larger visions or tighter budgets. The key is to plan the full design upfront even if you build in stages. This ensures the first phase is designed to accommodate the second, so Phase 2 always looks intentional rather than tacked on. We'll design the whole vision and help you prioritize a Phase 1 that gives the most impact for your investment.
Yes. For complete landscape projects that require development permits (decks, certain retaining walls, fire features, etc.), we handle the permit applications and coordinate inspections. You don't need to navigate the City of Calgary permit process yourself — we know what's required and handle it as part of the project.
Spring (May–June) and early fall (August–September) are our busiest build seasons. We strongly recommend booking consultations in late winter or early spring — February through April — if you want a summer build date. Our schedule fills up quickly, and the best dates go to clients who plan ahead. Winter consultations also give you plenty of time to finalize the design and material selections without feeling rushed.
